What a busy week! First, we listened to the story about the Enormous Turnip! Then we used our senses to explore a real turnip at small group time. This prompted a discussion around healthy foods, which are good for our bodies. The next day we decided to chop a variety of vegetables to make some delicious vegetable soup! Finally, we used the left over vegetable to make vegetable prints using Autumn coloured paints! We discovered that the vegetables made very different shapes!
As you may be aware we do have school uniforms available through the school. These can be purchased from Mrs Howard at the desk. We do have second hand jumpers and t – shirts available for you to take. If you are able to make a small donation that would be greatly appreciated.
UNIFORMS ARE NOT COMPULSORY
During our first week in nursery we have been exploring the outdoors. We wear our waterproof trousers to help keep us dry and allow us to explore without getting too wet! Children were able to explore, develop confidence in the environment, develop gross and fine motor skills and so much more.
Balancing and developing confidence
Hand eye co-ordination and concentration
Playing alongside others and making friends
Having fun!
Our first week in nursery has been fantastic. From the home visits we discovered lots of our children were interested in dinosaurs. They kept popping up everywhere!
Message from Northumbria Police
We believe that prevention is better than cure, and the earlier we speak to children about how to stay safe online, the better. Parents and carers have a crucial role to play in this.
Parents can be directed to this link Keeping children safe online / NSPCC where they will find advice on parental controls, apps, online gaming, and more.

As a mark of respect for Queen Elizabeth II, the nursery will be closed on the 19th of September for her funeral. The DFE have confirmed this date as a Bank Holiday, which we would normally be closed for.
